The successful candidate will be a leader of our Middle Office team based in Hong Kong. This role has a primary focus on leading a transformation of our post-trade operational infrastructure through a firm-wide strategic initiative. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for architecting and implementing a new, scalable operational model to support our complex, multi-asset trading strategies across global markets.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Act as the business lead for the selection and implementation of a new firm-wide post-trade platform
- →Partner with the internal IT, Trading, and Risk teams to manage the project from design and configuration through to migration and go-live
- →Lead the complete re-engineering of core middle office workflows, including trade processing, multi-way reconciliation, cash and collateral management, and corporate actions
- →Assume full ownership of the firm’s daily middle office and operations functions, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all post-trade activities
- →Serve as the primary escalation point for traders on all trade-related issues, breaks, and position queries, providing timely and effective resolutions
- →Develop and mentor the existing Middle Office team, upskilling them to manage the new platform and thrive in a more sophisticated, exception-based environment
- →Continuously evaluate and drive improvements for operational systems, processes, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk
- →Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency, break rates, and risk reduction
- University graduate in a relevant discipline; professional qualifications are a plus
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a Middle Office, Trade Support, or Operations role at a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or prime broker
- Proven, hands-on experience leading or playing a key role in implementing a major portfolio management system is preferred
- Deep, expert-level understanding of the entire trade lifecycle for a multi-asset environment, including equities, options, and futures
- Strong knowledge of corporate actions, P&L calculation, multi-currency cash management, and reconciliation principles
- Advanced knowledge of Python, MySQL, and Excel (including VBA/macros)
- A proactive and curious mindset with proven analytical and problem-solving skills; a “thinker” who can architect new processes, not just follow existing ones
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with traders, developers, and senior management
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
