Main Purpose of Job
Administrative Specialist I provides administrative support to all Child Support Specialist in the Programs Division in accordance with Federal, State, and local child support policies, procedures, and guidelines.\r\nJob Duties include:\r\nReviewing and processing returned undeliverable mail in CSMS and all Sheriff's returned disposition sheets,� Responds to inquiries received as it relates to interstate mail and employer mail in the Mail Processing Pool, Prepare administrative enforcement hearing notices and mails the notices, Receives and updates verified address information received from postmaster letters and employer verifications, and Completes assigned reports.\r\n
POSITION DUTIES
\r\n Reviews and processes returned undeliverable mail in the Child Support Management System and all Sheriff's returned disposition sheets and maintains statistical information regarding notices.��\r\n Updates appropriate data screens in the Child Support Management System including entering detailed case action log notes.\r\n Responds to inquiries regarding interstate mail and employer mail by sending appropriate requested documentation and/or forwarding the request to the appropriate parties.��\r\n Preparing administrative enforcement hearing notices and mail prior to the hearing date and processes petitions for contempt hearings.�\r\n Updates verified addresses received from Postmaster letters and employer verifications.\r\n Performs appropriate locate activities by utilizing Federal Case Registry System, Motor Vehicle Administration, Internet search, Maryland Case Search, and TransUnion.\r\n Completes assigned reports.�\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\nExperience: Six months of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.\r\nNotes:\r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.\r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have demonstrated many or preferably all of the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Six months experience of customer service experience\r\n Six months experience with Microsoft office and Google suites.\r\n Six months experience with data entry.\r\n\r\n\r\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r\n\r\n\r\nLeave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r\n
