~1 min readWe are seeking an experienced and capable Senior Registrar in Emergency Medicine to join a high-performing Emergency Department in a central London teaching hospital.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced, supportive environment that sees a diverse range of acute presentations, from high-acuity trauma to complex medical and surgical emergencies.
As part of a well-structured middle-grade rota, you will play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient flow through majors, minors and resus areas, while supporting junior doctors and ensuring timely senior review.

Lead the assessment and management of acutely unwell patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

Work flexibly across majors, minors, resus, and rapid assessment zones.

Support and supervise junior clinicians (FY/CT levels) and Advanced Care Practitioners.

Participate in clinical decision-making, patient flow coordination, and referrals to specialty teams.

Contribute to departmental teaching, audit, and quality improvement projects.

Ensure safe handover and effective communication across shifts.
- →
Uphold Trust values around patient safety, dignity, and clinical excellence.

Full GMC registration with a current licence to practise.

Minimum 6–12 months NHS experience in Emergency Medicine at Registrar/Middle Grade level.

Competent in managing resuscitation cases, acute medical and trauma patients.

ALS / ATLS / APLS certification (current or recently expired).

Strong communication and leadership skills under pressure.

MRCP / MRCEM (or equivalent)
