About the Role
~1 min readWe are looking for a Bilingual Legal Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for clients and callers. This role is ideal for someone with excellent communication skills who can remain calm, professional, and empathetic when handling sensitive or frustrated clients.
The successful candidate will answer and direct incoming calls, assist clients with their initial questions, and provide administrative support to the legal team.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Answer incoming calls in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
- →Communicate with clients in English and Spanish.
- →Transfer calls to the appropriate case manager, attorney, or department.
- →Handle calls from frustrated, upset, or distressed clients with patience and professionalism.
- →Take accurate messages and ensure timely communication with the appropriate team member.
- →Serve as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for the firm.
- →Assist with basic paperwork, filing, and administrative tasks during periods of low call volume.
- →Maintain accurate client and call information within the company's case management system.
- →Follow established procedures for routing calls and handling client inquiries.
- →Learn and effectively use the firm's case management and communication systems.
Requirements
~1 min read- Previous experience as a Receptionist, Legal Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, Legal Assistant, or in a customer/client-facing role.
- Fluent English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
- Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong ability to handle difficult, frustrated, or emotional clients professionally.
- Calm, patient, empathetic, and professional demeanor.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail when taking messages and handling client information.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Previous experience in a law firm or legal-services environment is a plus.
We are looking for someone who understands that a receptionist is often the first impression a client has of a law firm. The ideal candidate is warm, professional, patient, and confident on the phone, especially when speaking with clients who may be experiencing stressful or sensitive situations.
