Interventional Radiology and Integrated Clinic Surgical Scheduling Coordinator

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, and under the direction of the providers, is responsible for the pre-operative interview of patients and appropriate scheduling of surgical procedures. Works closely with hospital or facility where procedure will be performed to make appropriate arrangements, and assists in coordination of meetings, as well as provider, clinic, surgery and on-call schedules.

High school or equivalent (GED). Associates Degree (A.D.)and/or Diploma in Nursing is desirable, but not required.

Minimum of one year experience as a surgical coordinator, preferably in an acute care/medical surgical setting.

• →Schedules and coordinates, with patient, family and facility, surgery or surgical procedures.
• →Interviews and educates patient for surgery.
• →Ensures accuracy of all procedures, paperwork, testing and appointments.
• →Acts as primary resource for the surgical patient and the surgeon.
• →Maintains relationships with outside offices, facilities and hospital departments.
• →Assists with the coordination of provider, resident, office, surgical and on-call schedule where appropriate.
